Sean McCabe was an award-winning art teacher, climber and avid cross-country skiier. Combining his vocation in art with his outdoor interests, Sean established himself as a unique artist portraying these outdoor sports with his colorful and sometimes whimsical style.

Sean completed his Fine Arts degree at the University of Utah. His graphic designs can be seen on The North Face, Patagonia, and Black Diamond clothing labels. Sean’s illustrations have been featured in American Alpine Journal, Climbing Magazine and the Alpinist. Sean was also the recipient of a prestigious Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award in 2001.

Sean lived in Mazama Washington in the Methow Valley of north-central Washington state and is survived by his wife Laura and his two young daughters, Novie and Dashe.
